When comparing courses, please know that WE LIMIT OUR CLASS SIZE TO 8.
You will NEVER be placed on a firing line with 12 or 14 others. Furthermore, the skills, techniques and tactics for EFFECTIVE SELF-DEFENSE CANNOT be taught or realized at an indoor range. Drawing from holsters, shooting and moving, multiple targets, moving targets and rapid fire are NOT allowed at indoor ranges.
All our courses are conducted outdoors at our private range.

NRA First Steps
Note: This course does not address any aspect of self-defense nor rights & laws pertaining to weapons
Prerequisite: None Length: 3 hrs. (class & range)
A thorough introduction to firearm safety, handling, and shooting skills. This course is designed to acquaint the student with pistols and to understand how to handle and operate a specific pistol model plus the ammunition it fires. In addition, pistol cleaning, safe pistol storage and other training opportunities are discussed and demonstrated. Student may provide firearm and ammunition, or ACG will provide equipment upon request.
NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting
Note: This course does not address any aspect of self-defense nor rights & laws pertaining to weapons
Prerequisite: None Length: 8 hrs. (class & range)
In addition to all the material in the NRA First Steps, all pistol types and actions are discussed. Also taught are techniques of loading and unloading all pistol types, shooting from standing positions and dealing with malfunctions. Hone shooting skills and learn guidelines for selecting a pistol. Student may provide firearm and ammunition, or ACG will provide equipment upon request.
NRA Personal Protection in the Home
Prerequisite: NRA Basic Pistol or respectable familiarity and experience with firearms
Length: 8 hrs. (class & range)
An in-depth course on the fundamentals of personal safety in the home and the use of the handgun as a tool for self-defense. Setting up safe rooms and practical scenarios of reacting to threats, protecting yourself, safeguarding family, defending against intruders, the reality of police response and dealing with the aftermath of an in-home shooting. Also examined are the psychological and physiological reactions of the human body under stress. Student may provide firearm and ammunition, or ACG will provide equipment upon request.
NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home
Prerequisite: NRA Personal Protection in the Home or other professional defensive handgun training and/or pre-course evaluation
Length: Day #1: 6 hrs. (class) Day #2: 8 hrs. (range)
NRA’s top course for practical use of the handgun for self-defense. Begins with review of topics in the NRA Personal Protection in the Home course, then on to practical defense scenarios when encountering assailants outside the home. Studied are the criminal mindset, how to not be victimized, drawing from concealment, shooting and moving, defending against multiple attackers, shooting from cover/concealment, clearing malfunctions and reloading. Student shall provide all equipment and ammunition.
